Is there a dummies guide to updating a K2000 Windows installation script to include all patches?

We've been using the K2000 for a few years to build PCs using installation scripts.  The problem is our Windows "disk" is woefully out of date for patches, so after using the K2000 to efficiently build a PC we now spend a few hours doing Windows Updates on each new PC.

Is there a dummy's guide to keeping your K2000 Windows media current with patches?  I know ABOUT slipstreaming but have never done it, so if that's involved is there a dummy's guide to that as well?

Thanks in advance for anything you can give!

Long answer short:
You have multiple possibilities:
1. you deploy your current Image to a vm, update it and capture it again: https://support.software.dell.com/kb/121734
2. setup a post install task to install the patches afterwards, one good project for this is: http://www.wsusoffline.net/
you just need to download the updates regulary and update the post install task with the new files.
3. setup your K1000 to update new machines more often, this really depends on what you really need, this is the easiest     was to maintain.
