Issue with SMTP and Proofpoint Essentials

We just installed Proofpoint Essentials and it has broken the automated reports that we are supposed to received from the appliance. Proofpoint does not recognize the domain that we have set up within the appliance as a legitimate domain and it is causing the emails to be denied even before being blocked or quarantined. Proofpoint has stated that the only way to repair this is to register the domain, which is not really a domain, it's more of a service account/service domain for internal purposes only.

Has any one run into the issue and if so how did you fix it?

Thanks in advance for the help and advice,

  • Sounds like a Proofpoint issue to me, I can think of loads of customers that have set up their SMA and as such the domain name is internally and never going to be valid. Your escalation should be with Proofpoint in this case (no pun intended ;o) - Hobbsy 4 years ago
