K1000 Alerts to Text

Hello,

i've been reading up on some of the messaging features to email alerts.  If i wanted to send out a system outage but i wanted to send to Mobile cell phones could this be a possibility?

The email alerts that i see are for reports but nothing for a notification that i would want to send out.

Any kind of help would be great.  We just want to send out better messages if we have outages at our hospital.

You would have to email the phone provider's email to text gateway address similar to this:  http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/email-to-sms/

A good list of SMS gateways: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SMS_gateways

I setup a rule in Outlook to forward any KACE alerts associated with critical servers to the email address associated with the text messaenger on my AT&T cell. For AT&T use @txt.att.net, for example, 5551234567@txt.att.net. Same thing can be done with the other carriers as well. You might setup an Exchange group (might be complicated), or better yet a Listserv that contains all of the texting email addresses of the cell phones you wish to text. Then have the KACE appliance send alerts to that group address.
