K1000 DNS

Hi, we have K2000 and a K1000 both have the same DNS settings but the K1000 will not resolve names but the K2000 works fine?

The DNS settings have been changed recently.

Do you know why this is not working?

You can log into the console of the K1000

User=konfig
pw=konfig

Go ahead and verify the TCP/IP settings.

You may also log in to test connectivity from the console using

User=netdiag
pw=netdiag

You then can use PING and other commands directly from console to test.

As hmoore stated, you can perform diagnostic testing from the console by logging in with netdiag:netdiag. Among the tools available is nslookup - which is precisely what you need for DNS testing.

  • Hi,

    When I dig it shows the dns server and when nslookup it is pointing to the old dns server. But when I go to the web front end it shows the new DNS server. Any ideas? - Rebecca_Bunting 12 years ago

Be sure to set the K1000 Web Server name and the DNS host record the same so other devices (particularly agents) can find the K1. If the K1000 will not resolve host names, also verify the Primary and Secondary DNS settings.

Also, the K1000 Troubleshooting Tools page has a ping utility if you prefer to do that from the web interface.

I would double check your network settings for both boxes.

A reboot may also help to flush dns
