K1000 Software Detail Shows Incorrect Uninstall Command, How To Modify

The listing for a software in our K1000 environment (NWE Agent v11.5.0.0) has an Uninstall Command area with a pre-populated command, but when I spoke directly to the vendor who supplied this software, this command being shown in KACE is incorrect. Is there no way to modify this myself? If not, how is KACE determining this command, and how can this be corrected?

  • Have you actually tried the uninstall command and if so did it work?

It may be that the manufacturer is not correct, so I'd "suck it and see" - Hobbsy 1 year ago

If KACE pulls it from:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{App Name or GUID} \UninstallString

Then it is the Vendors fault for putting it in there.

I believe the rest come from some online database that KACE pulls from. Unfortunately, there is really nothing you can do to correct this.

  • Thank you for your detailed instructions.

Yes, the entry in that reg key has the incorrect string. I will have to talk to the vendor. Thanks! - OMIC_LS 1 year ago
