K2000 and Windows 7 Professional Product Key
We just setup a K2000 and have created the first Windows 7 master image for a Dell Optiplex 790 desktop.
We are planning to use the K2000 to distibute this image to 50 identical stations.
These are Dell desktops that shipped with the OEM software (and all are stickered with the product key atop the station)
Do we need to modify the CD key on each station after deploying the image to each?
Is there any quick way to do this (other that the slmgr tool manually per station) using the answer file or a post install task?
Is this even necessary (can we use the same image/key across all of the 50 stations without issue)
With XP we imaged a master station and used the code provided in the MS article for Preserving OEM Pre-Activation when Re-installing Windows XP:

I leave the product key out and then use a post install task to enter the key and activate it. See:

The only way you can use the same key on that many machines is to deploy W7 enterprise and use a KMS key to activate to a KMS server. That is what we did in our environment.
