K2000 v3.7 -- Better @ Handling Mac Deployments?

Is anyone running the 3.7 RC and testing Mac deployments? I've been dying for KACE to show Macs some love and bring the K2 up to snuff with something like DeployStudio. In 3.6, I very often have issues logging into the KBE, icons disappearing in the dock, random 'unapproved caller' error messages, imaging takes significantly more time than DS, and the list goes on.

If there isn't a nice buff to the Mac side of things in the next release, we'll be forced to strip our Mac node licensing from KACE. Would love to avoid that!

  • Any idea where we can get the RC? - Timi 9 years ago
    • Corrie said you can email him to get it when we talked to him at the DWUF. You also have to have a uservoice account - SMal.tmcc 9 years ago
      • Yeah I signed up through the uservoice, I'm sure a quick search there would bring it up. I emailed the above question to Corrie but haven't heard back yet =\ - dgretch 9 years ago
      • be patient there are not many Ktechs with his skills so he gets spread thin sometimes - SMal.tmcc 9 years ago

Answer Summary:
I heard back from the KACE dev team regarding this and none of the above issues have been addressed in release 3.7.

Simple answer = YES!

There was a webinar today on the new 3.7 features and they talked about MAC deployments and multicasting as well for .DMG files

I would wait for the release of v3.7 before you go do something you regret.

  • I appreciate the feedback, hoping for some more specific info though. Can you provide some examples besides multicasting (which doesn't do much for me)? - dgretch 9 years ago
