Kace imaging

What’s the difference between scripted image and spelt image in Kace. I only ask because I having a n issue where I use the deployed image its puts the incorrect audio Driver and when I remove it. It reinstalls in. I notice on the scripting image it pulls the driver feed and that helps because it installs the correct driver

Scripted Installs are done with a Clean Windows ISO, that has no modifications or drivers at all.

System Images, are like snaphots of Windows, they could have all sort of drivers, leftovers from drivers, software.... files, etc etc.

Scripted installs always use the drivers in \drivers_postinstall

System images will only use these, if the image was Sysprepped prior to the capture, AND, if the System Image has the option to "use driver feeds" checked.

They both pull the same drivers from the same place.

Scripted Installations do tend to manage drivers a little better than Imaging (in my experience). If you want to know ALL the differences between Imaging and Scripted Installations... I would direct you to the documentation. If you have any other concrete questions after reviewing the documentation then please post them.

Ok I’m asking because I’m having numerous issue with audio not working when plugging in headphones. When I use the scripting I have no issue because of the drivers are in kace it puts the generic driver Aka Microsoft. But the imaging puts the Realtek

Thank you for that information.

1) it’s true i have to keep building a n

kbe every time I add new drivers to the driver feed.

2) has anyone experience the headphone jack not Working. I noticed this when I use the imaging part the the Audio doesn’t switch and that it already has a wave audio pro installed. When I do the scripting image and I manually install the Audio drivers it work. ( during the scripting image it doesn’t install wave max audio which I believe is the problem).
