KACE K1100 migration

Afternoon all,

As part of our hardware maintenance renewal, we've just received a brand new K1100S server.  Is there any guidance on how I can migrate the existnig server over to the new one?

Thanks.  Dave

If they are running the same version of KACE server and the agents are all in line as well, should be pretty simple.

I would setup with the same name, IP, and all, and then restore the old appliance to the new one and then modify old K1000 IP to a different IP and bring the new K1000 online with the old K1000 IP. If you use SSL then you may need to fix certificate errors, but other than that I can't see any issues. But depending on how many machines you have connected I would do this on off hours over a weekend.

Also, DEFINITELY check with KACE support on it.

  • I agree should be just a simple restore after you setup the IP.

KACE Support will definitely have a better idea of what you are upgrading from to the new one. We use VM's so no hardware dependency for us. - petelanglois 10 years ago
