KACE SMA 1000 - How to edit variable $ticket_url?

Hey,

we want to change the URL of the ticket related emails out of our SMA 1000 service desk.

The change would be https instead of http, do we have to edit the variable $ticket_url for that and is it even possible?

Or is this done by changing the default SMA 1000 url?

You would configure the appliance to use HTTPS in the security settings by applying a SSL certificate.

Once this is done the URL will change from HTTP to HTTPS

  • Just as a possible add on to this (Correct) answer, if you wanted to change the rest of the address, instead of only the SSL (http/https) portion of the URL, I believe that is indeed the SMA URL in Settings->Control Panel->Network Settings->Web Server Name

    I believe that's the field the SMA looks at to get the initial part of $ticket_url (as it's your server address, funnily enough!). Just make sure it's 'legitimate' i.e. if you put servicedesk.company.com make sure you own that domain, as it'll literally be changing the URL!

    We've recently moved over to SSL and it's dead easy as we already had a certificate for other setups on our network. Check the Admin Guide and just follow the instructions in there, whether you already have a certificate or need to generate one. - Honkytonk 3 years ago
