Looking for an asset management system

Basically we are looking for something to keep track of what department of what business unit gets what pc and with what software/licenses attached to it. We dont have a KMS server or anything like that. We do have SCCM however I dont like what is offered through that.

Any thing that is free ware or on the cheaper end probably would be best. At the moment we have less than 200 pcs deployed.

Thanks!!

  • Take a look at Spiceworks.com, it's free and easy to use. - Osni 10 years ago
  • I have used that before, again, I wasnt too thrilled with it. It doesnt make checking in and out hardware very easy. Cant really complain about a free app though. - edilling 10 years ago
  • The first thing to do is develop a well defined User Rquirement Specification. As for free if you don't like Spiceworks you can try SysAid Asset Managment. I use Kace's just fine but I would like to add floorplans to it, we can dream...... - Lanman145 10 years ago
  • Take a look at lansweeper.com - relatively low cost, very effective - drose23 10 years ago
