Need help learning how to use K1000 to start deploying software
Hi,
i am new to KACE and have no practical knowledge in cmd line to script deployment of application. Would appreciate any help I could get

If you want to learn how to use the appliance you should check if you brought Quickstart training with the appliance.
If yes, contact your sales rep for an appointment.

So the jumpstart training money was exhaust when my company first start using it. The staff is gone and now i'm taking over. I can ask the leadership team to get me additional training though.

You can also check if in your location a Backyard Bootkamp or a UserKON is held.
Right now the UserKON 2019 in Florida is held.
on Oct 22nd the UserKON Munich is held.

Admin guide used to be good resource. Have left kace for while now.
Being from Application packaging ground, that has helped me understand all the things around KACE better.

Google will definitely be your best friend when it comes to creating cmd line scripts. When we first set up the K1000 I also had no practical knowledge of cmd line scripting but there are just a ton of examples of scripts all over the internet. Do you have an example of something you are currently trying to deploy?

I was able to get as far as pushing out a software package (MSI). However I'm struggling to get the application through Windows firewall. This is what I did
- add a new task on the install arg
- set it to launch program (not sure if this is right?)
- set parameter as (etsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="My App" dir=in action=allow program= "My App.exe" enable=yes - Tommydegunz 4 years ago-
for the nessesary parameters: contact the vendor of the software.
Since modifying the firewall is a separate task I suggest you to create a script with that and combine the installation and the script with a Task Chain (this is simply a sequence of different tasks which need to run at the same time) to make sure that prerequisites are fulfilled) - Nico_K 4 years ago
