Offloaded Backup File Clean Up

We are using Kace SMA K1000. In version 9.0, offloading backup files became available. Does anyone know if there is any automated file cleanup with this feature? Does the number of files retained follow the onboard file retention? Or do we have to manually remove files that are no longer needed?

Thanks,

Brad

Sadly from what I have seen the appliance is not going to remove them on its own. It  is only going to clean up the ones withing it, but the ones in the SMB/FTP nope. You would need to manually do it, maybe with a bat file using the task scheduler so it can remove old (2 months + maybe) backup files

Comments:
  • if the backup server is agent managed you can run scripts.
There is a decision not to interfere with customers environment where it is not nessesary (and how the backup retention in the env is handled is customers decision) - Nico_K 4 years ago
