Operating system is not presently configured to run this aplication?
Hi,
I get this error when trying to run a sequenced application (Office 2003) on two new citrix servers I installed today.
“The operating system is not presently configured to run this applicationâ€Â
The problem only appears on the two new Citrix servers that I installed today. I can run it on my old servers. I use Windows 2003 TS on all servers.
The program is loading correctly and when it’s loaded to 100% the error message appears.
Does anyone know what to do? I can run other sequenced applications on the new servers...

I would assume the new servers have a different base load but can you tell if there are any differences in the new servers?

Hi OsKaro,
This application has some dependencies on the local operating system that it sounds like you are missing. If you attempt to run all applications in the suite you might find that powerpoint or publisher might work but Excel and Word recieve the error message? I have found in the past the .NET framework is required on the local OS for Office applications. I've just managed to reproduce the problem (just trying to remember how I solved it), once I get the fix nutted I will put on another post. Make sure your Sequencer matches your destination OS (not that you didn't already know that).

My Seq machine was xpsp2 with .NET1.1

Hi All,
I have the same problem too with Office 2007 / Seq 4.1 SP1.
My sequencers and clients are VMWare virtual machines....
I'd be gratefull if you could help me, or if you have some ideas...[8|]

Doh! I was hoping the client's didn't then I could blame it on a missing visual C++ library. You should try to be on the latest sequencer / client because this could be a side by side assembly issue and you might might want to look at this article as well.

Sounds maybe a bit silly, but whenever I ran into this problem (especially with Visio and Project) it seems that the userprofile had become corrupted. After deleting the profile (server and local) the problem was gone.
I'm afraid that I didn't have the time to pinpoint the problem.

I'm having the same problem as well. I running windows 98se, and was successfully using Microsoft Office XP on my system. I could use word, publisher, powerpoint, and so forth with no problem. After I recently downloaded AVG 7.5, it was, for some reason, seeing them as threats. So, I told AVG to ignore them. Now, when I try to open word, I get this message "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application". I uninstalled ms office and reinstalled it---same message. Any solutions would be appreciated. I need to use word. Thank you.
