Programdata folder

It would appear with a recent Kace agent that Quest has made the Kace folder hidden under Programdata.  Whenever I attempt to execute a batch file included in a dependency, I get an error that the file cannot be found.

I then attempted to unzip the dependency zip file to another folder, in the process, the folder gets created, but no files are ever unzipped to it.

Any ideas on either or both?

Please and thank you.

The KACE folder in ProgramData is not hidden.

Which version of the KACE SMA are you using?

Are you imaging your devices with the KACE SDA? (version?)

Are you installing those agents using GPO policies or something else?

Firstly the ProgramData directory thing has been around for a little while and you may well be seeing the working directory that the agent stores files in to facilitate things like scripts or managed installations. If you can actually see the zip file in a temp directory then the script or MI is probably working, HOWEVER KACE may not know what to do with the file.

When using zip files to distribute or run multiple file installations ALWAYS call name the file with a .ZIP extension and ALWAYS create the zip file using a proprietary zip application i.e Winzip or 7zip, never use a windows created zip file.
