reboot pending

Hi all - we have a number of systems that show up as "reboot pending" in our weekly patch schedule - even though I know that these systems have been rebooted.

This is throwing off completion of a number of critical patch schedules because some amount of systems are seen as needing patches but have rebooted and should be ready.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

  • Can I ask if your schedule was a “Deploy” or a “Detect and Deploy” as the reboot behaviour is different as far as I understand. I am thinking that it is possible that you have deployed multiple patches that need a reboot and a single reboot will not be enough? I would suggest, pick a system showing reboot required, check out what patches were deployed and count the number needing reboots. Then Reboot and carry out a Detect, rinse and repeat and see if the two correlate?? - Hobbsy 4 years ago
  • Hi - thanks for the response. Yes, we've been battling with the question of forced reboots, so I will pick out one of the systems that I can do a comparison as you suggest. - tstrub2020 4 years ago
