Roaming laptop clients: Alt location, or Replication share, or ?

We have a large amount of laptops that connect in a couple different offices - or remotely via VPN. They may spend days or weeks at a time in one or more of the locations.

I see that I can create a replication share in the remote offices, but, is there anyway to tell the agent on the laptop to go to that office's replication share - instead of just going to the original replication share no matter which office they are currently in?

It looks like I might be able to use a "Smart Label". Have anyone ever created a Smart Label based on IP subnet and assigned that to a particular Replication Share?

Using IP ranges for assignment to Replication shares is the primary idea. A machine moves from one location to another and it automatically picks up the new rep share.

I use this website for create IP REGEXs: www.analyticsmarket.com/freetools/ipregex

Assign a label to each office range and it's rep share, and you're good to go.

Our network is the 2nd octet that tells what site it's on.

I just do a smart label that says if the IP begins with "10.20." then it should should use the remote share on that site :)
