SAP GUI 7.50 application [ server list and history ]

Hello everyone!

I'm in the middle of preparing the SAP GUI 7.50 application in SCCM 2012, steps I still need is to copy/import the SAP GUI server list and if possible to backup history from older version of SAP and import to SAP GUI 7.50

 Copying saplogon.ini to C:\Windows doesn't seem to do the trick anymore and there is a new format for the server list, from what I found it's two files:  "SAPUILandscapeGlobal.xml" and "SAPUILandscape.xml", which should be in c:\users\userprofilename\appdata\roaming\sap\common

The history files are also in the user profile and SCCM uses the system account for application installation, so I don't yet have a final solution on how to copy the SAP GUI server list and how to handle the history files (if possible).

If you have any experience in creating SAP GUI 7.50 packages or any suggestions on how to handle this case, please share your thoughts

You can locate your landscape files wherever you want i think by setting the following registry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAPLogon\Options]
"PathConfigFilesLocal"="C:\\Wherever\\You\\Want"

I think you can also set a system environment variable called: SAPLOGON_LSXML_FILE and point it to a landscape file, for example: C:\Wherever\You\Want\SAPUILandscape.XML

Have a dig through the docs....

  • Thanks a lot capitan_planet!

    Using the "SAPLOGON_LSXML_FILE" did the trick!

    I have to say, I did go throught the SAP Setup guide and I didn't find this solution previously, even now I did a CTRL+F and searched for "SAPLOGON_LSXML_FILE" and it didn't find anything. - major 5 years ago
