Shortcut not installing through vendor MSI ( extracted).
I am trying to do the silent install for this application called "IDEC Automation Organizer1.21" through extracted MSI in the TEMP folder, its not installing any shortcut but If I install through setup.exe it does install all the shortcut. Please let me know what do to in order to install those shortcut. I also tried ADDLOCAL as well but didn't work..How I can install all the shortcut through vendor MSI.?? Any idea...
I also google it and i saw that appdeploy link was showing up with the regards to this application in knowledgebase but when I click it it goes to the main page of ITNINJA.com .

First you have to check vendor MSI, is shortcut there are not?
If no, then you can create it via Transform file and If yes, ten you have to check the condition or SquenceTable.

The setup wrapper probably creates the shortcut. I would try a transform and add the shortcut through there.

tried but didn't work. This application have 29 shortcut and every time I add the shortcut it doesn't install.. something is going on in the wrapper. I tried to figure it out but failed.. - bulbul 12 years ago
