Show MDM Device in SMA without a network connection?

We have some devices we are deploying that will not have network connections, but will operate on a cellular plan. Is there a way for the Kace SMA to see these devices in our inventory?

I know I can see them in the MDM. I'm just wondering if a cellular connection will allow them to check-in with the SMA.

Thank you.

  • I had a discovery schedule running, but the device was not appearing. It may have not been set for auto-provisioning. I did find it and manually provision it to show in my inventory. I'll have to check the next devices we enroll and see what happens.

Thank you. - lnicholsmw 5 years ago
  • the MDM needs to be able to get access to the SMA, so if your SMA has no internet access it will not be possible.
Else you simply create a discovery schedule and enable "Auto Provision Devices" to create the devices in the appliance.
You also need a "real" tenant, different types of test tenants cannot be discovered since they are only for testing purposes (or Support needs to enable this) - Nico_K 5 years ago

KACE SMA integrates with KACE Cloud and you can see all the KACE cloud devices on KACE SMA once you have enabled the integration.
