Software download from website?

In the software library, is there a way for us to point users to a file located on a remote web server?

Most of our users are outside of our network and we don't have the upstream bandwidth available for them to be pulling hundred megabyte files from our internal system.

Can we give them access via the user portal to download software and installation instructions from a web server?

Thanks,
Matt

If you used the "install" or "script" method then that would use the replication share or your file references (e.g. UNC path) as a normal script would do

Gerald,
Our users will not be connected to the local network which the KBOX is installed, so UNC paths will not work.
Our software distribution source is currently a linux cloud based web server with a simple http file listing script where we can point users to download large files like office, and vmware workstation.
Obviously for simplicity sake we would like to use the KBOX to have them select from an available list of hardware and have it download the installations files from our existing web server.
The reason being, we're a consulting company and as a result our employees are spread throughout the country. Having a high speed distribution source makes the most sense for us as we have very limited upstream bandwidth from our office.

Can we specify a file location as follows... http://distro.company.com/VMWare_Workstation/VMware-workstation-full-7.1.0-261024.exe

Thanks for the help,
Matt

In the installation instructions you could put a link to it:

<A HREF=http://distro.company.com/VMWare_Workstation/VMware-workstation-full-7.1.0-261024.exe>http://distro.company.com/VMWare_Workstation/VMware-workstation-full-7.1.0-261024.exe</A>
