Is using a shortcut in startup recommended ?

Someone tell me if shortcut comes in startup it’s recommended to keep it just keep on program data short & delete startup short cut?

It depends on the functional requirement of the customer. Usually he specifies if the application is required to run at startup or if it is to start through user interaction.

There are no technical limitations on placing shortcuts on a system.

This would equate more to a business rule than a technical issue/question, in my opinion.

You have to decide, or let the user decide, if they want something on startup or not.  Not having it startup should not impact the functionality of that sole program (but if another is dependant on it, it may affect that one).

  • Generally I have seen customers have said no for startup shortcuts especially the ones which has UI and as soon your pc starts it pops up and this can be annoying for the users but if there are some programs which starts some service or it has any dependency on other programs ,it should be kept as it is. - sumitsingh1984 10 years ago
