This is an extremely broad question. So broad that there's certainly not a singular resource that has all that info. You also don't include a lot of details: For what OS(es)? Do you or your org have a preferred packaging suite? Do you plan to deploy using SCCM, KACE, GPO, or something else? In what form do you currently have the software and in what form do you want it on a client's computer?

I'm sry were all new to the Kace 1000, I guess what I'm after is how to install certain software packages like , chrome firefoxe, adobe, and some of the custom apps we use here, I as well as my co workers have no idea how to start building custom packages that's all, and I was just wanting to get a jump start from someone on Nija, they say this is the best place to start that's all Jason.. I will be using Kace 1000 and using the Distribution part with managed installations, that is how they say the best way to roll out software would be, I do have the .MSI as well as the EXE's thanks Jason any help you can provide to me, this Kace stuff is very very very overwhelming to say the least!

  • Though ITNinja is a great resource, I would definitely not suggest to "start here" if you have zero knowledge about KACE. Did you just purchase KACE or did you inherit it? If you just bought it then you might be entitled to training from Quest (check with your sales rep). I'll post another answer to your general question. - JasonEgg 7 years ago

So it turns out this question is asking for an introduction to K1000 software deployment (please be more specific with questions in the future). For official documentation, please see Chapter 4 (starts on pg 454) of the KACE Admin Guide, which is titled "Deploying Packages to Managed Devices" (link to Admin Guide PDF for K1000 v7.0). For basic help, use the K1000 Quest Support page to view/search for KB articles and help videos. To learn, I would suggest using the "Managed Installations" module to create a simple MSI deployment (for a common program like 7-zip) to a small group of devices you manage. Here's a nice intro video: https://support.quest.com/kace-systems-management-appliance/kb/157973 (This uses an older version of the K1000 server but it's still relevant)
