  • I need something for Mac. I could pull warranty details from reports I really need something from Mac. Which gives out make or model or year or warranty - vaibhaw07 4 years ago
    • The Macs only way in the SMA is to report the bios serial number and you look them up on Apples site.

Navigate to Apple's Warranty Status page.
Enter your device's serial number into the text field.
Enter the CAPTCHA code to confirm that you are human.

      • You can automate the process if you have access to Apple GSX. - chucksteel 4 years ago

For Macs you need to enroll thru Device Enrollment Program (DEP) or Volume Purchase Program (VPP) for your company and you can get the Warranty info that way.

If you are talking portable mac devices purchase the MDM and link that into your SMA.  It very inexpensive to do.  You will like the MDM to mange the MACs with.  They are working on enhancements that will allow you to fully manage the Imacs just like the Ipads.

To create Mac report: go to reports and select new wizard

Page 1: Give it a name and make sure device is the topic.

Page 2: under device select system name; under OS info select name; under Manufacturer and Bios info select bios serial number

Page 3: Arrange column order

Page 4: Select sort ordeer

Page 5: Create a filer - select specify rules to filter and it will add a line.  Select the pencil to far right on that line and edit. Change field name to "Name" under OS info

change operator to "contains" and put mac in value.  Click add to right when done

click finish and you have a report
