Uninstalling Applications while user does not have Admin Privilages
Hi,
First time posting and i couldn't find the answer i'm looking for through searching.
We have enabled Windows PowerUsers in our environment which prohibits users from installing or uninstalling software.
This creates a bit of an issue as it seems that scripted uninstalls/installs will not work and will have to go through the Managed install/uninstall route.
Where this becomes a bigger problem for me is our Project and Visio 2013 installs. Some users have 32bit or 64bit installed and that depends if they have office 2013 64bit or 32bit installed. the issue is there is no way that i know of to determin within Kace if the software is 32bit or 64bit and to create a manged uninstall based on that.
I saw that there was a way to uninstall silently using the product code within a CMD prompt but again using the powershell.exe method to gain admin rights does not seem to work either..
So i'm at a loss.
I have successfully created a 64bit uninstaller for visio and project but since Kace doesn't recognize the difference between 32bit or 64bit for these guys it makes it hard.
Anyone have any idea's or have ran into this situation?

The agent runs as administrator by default, so I don't know why scripted installs would not work (I'm unfamiliar with this Domain Policy) - JasonEgg 7 years ago

Create a batch file that does the detection for 32bit and 64bit and then performs the correct uninstall command. Include that batch file in your upload to the software title and use it as the uninstall command for the managed install.
