Updating mass Assets warranty date

I am looking to update the warranty dates of my assets to a certain date, 5 years after the purchase date. Is there a way to do this all at once?

Ticket rules is the answer, I am assuming you have a purchase date field and then a warranty expiry date field.

Create a ticket rule that selects the type of Asset you want to update and calculates the purchase date + 5 Years, updating the warranty date field.

You can then set the rule to run maybe only once a month as you wont need the information to be up to the minute accurate

  • I am very new to KACE, just taking it over from a previous employee. How do I create a ticket rule? - jrunkles1221 5 years ago
    • Ticket rules can be created by going to Service Desk > Configuration > Rules > Choose Action > New (SQL). I WOULD ONLY SUGGEST USING SQL TICKET RULES IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT IN USING SQL: You can do serious damage to your database if you're not careful. If you have a test environment, test there first. - JasonEgg 5 years ago
