What informs the Urgent Upgrade Recommendation Report?

We schedule and receive the Urgent Upgrade Recommendations report each week and use it to selectively apply the BIOS updates to ensure they do not cause any problems. However, even after upgrading a workstation to the latest, the report still shows it in need of an Upgrade to the version it is running. I cannot figure out what informs the report that it still sees the old BIOS version.

Any information is appreciated.

  • Where do you find that report? Is it custom? If so, can you include the query here? - ondrar 5 years ago
  • I believe the report is a system report, as it existed when I began using the system, and is located at Security / Dell Updates / Reporting. It is titled Urgent Upgrade Recommendations and shows Dell BIOS and driver updates available.

  • I don't have that report, but if it's running against Dell Updates, then I would a Detect schedule against those computers again. Just installing the BIOS update doesn't update the Inventory. KACE needs to detect again to see that it's installed. - ondrar 5 years ago

  • Unfortunately, this was a short lived victory. My laptop disappeared from the report appropriately. But I have several other workstations that, despite having had the update run, the machine reboot, and the detect re-run, all in that order, are still appearing on the report. KACE needs to run another Detect job for Dell Updates in order for it to know that the new BIOS has been installed.
