Why does media manager keep failing to create a netboot environment for Yosemite?
We are just starting to look at Mac imaging. I am on K2000 3.7.116629. I made sure the patch for Yosemite was applied. I downloaded media manager to a macbook running a fresh install of Yosemite. I pointed it to the mounted InstallESD.dmg like the Kace instructions said. The process starts, but it fails in under a minute. All of the other posts on ITNinja about failing to capture a netboot image seem to have clear error messages, but in my case I don't see what the error is. I copied the output from media manager below. Any information or advice from the community would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is new for OS X 10.10.5, but I was able to capture a netboot environment by pointing media manager to the actual Yosemite Install App in the applications folder. Everything else would cause it to fail. I tried using DiskmakerX, I tried extracting and mounting the actual install.dmg from the app. Pointing is at the app itself seemed to do the trick. We're seeing the same thing here and we are quite disappointed with the Mac support from the K2000. We are sticking with DeployStudio for our Mac imaging at this point. It's easy to get setup and can run on a Mac Mini quite well.

There could be multiple issues that could cause the issue, one of which is there enough disk space as the Media Manager needs at least 20GB working space.
Is there enough RAM installed on the system, I have observed at times that just adding more memory resolves the issue.
The last issue I heard giving an odd error was the app was actually missing in the OSX Yosmite Apps>Contents>SharedSupport folder which is where the install image is suppose to reside.

The Macbook I'm using has 4Gb of RAM and a 250Gb HDD. I formatted the drive and then installed Yosemite, so disk space should not be an option. I plan to make a new usb installer for Yosemite, so hopefully that will take care of the last issue you mentioned. - jamie1069 8 years ago

I have uploaded 10.9 and 10.10 with no problem. I made a bootable usb drive and pointed the MM to that to upload from.

Thanks! I will try diskmakerx right away. I used Disk Utility to create the usb installer all the previous times, so maybe that was causing my problem. I will let you know the results! - jamie1069 8 years ago
