windows installer source list update vs SCCM Client

Hi,

I know the Windows Installer source list update cycle can be triggered via the SCCM client as per:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/system-center/configuration-manager-2007/bb892810(v=technet.10)?redirectedfrom=MSDN

Is anyone aware that the cycle executes every hour automatically?

It can be seen in the SrcUpdateMgr.log - I believe the Windows Installer service starts for 10 mins exactly but the job through SCCM client would take much less time than that...and 10 mins is only a safeguard.

I have not found any information online about this process and only heard about this through colleagues..is anyone aware of this process and if the time is configurable?

Side note. Just to let you know there is known issue with the alternative (MSI) source media via SCCM when trying to do a repair. This is a bug with Windows Installer, which will not be fixed.
