WmWare View Client Installation
Hi guys
I am trying to package the latest 32 bit VMware View CLient.
It is called VMware Horizion View Client, version 5.4.0-1219906
I have extracted the contents of the executable and it contains an msi and a few cabs, simple enough.
I have created a simple transform to remove shortcuts and a few other things and have packaged it in SCCM 2012 for deployment.
If I log in as a normal domain user it installs and requires a restart which is fine however when I go to launch it it errors and says required plugins not installed?
If I log out and login as a user with local admin it launches fine.
Any ideas? - frustrating the hell out of me.
Platform is Windows 7 Enterprise 32Bit.
If I go to run it manually as the test user it fails as the user has no admin rights.
I am still teaching myself packaging so still learning etc.
Do I somehow need to run the msi with elevated rights, I am sure SCCM does this though as I have packaged lots of other apps with no issue at all.
All of my other SCCM 2012 Applications that I install work fine and I believe it installs under our SCCM service account which has domain admin access etc.

Sounds like there's some files/reg keys for curent user which aren't delivered to your normal domain user after the install because SCCM is running the install. Is there an advertised shortcut in the MSI? If so, run it and it should launch the self heal. If there isn't an advertised shortcut, add an Active Setup key to run the repair command upon first login. This will require the user to login after the install in order for A.S. to do its thing.
