Note

Followed this procedure but failed to install. Running .MSI results in message "Run setup from root folder". Spent one hour trying to get support from Adobe. Could barely understand what passes for English with them. Finally told Silent install required a $50 free, despite our CLP membership and volume license purchase.If this procedure doesn't work, don't waste time trying to get support from Adobe, they don't care. Finally had to hand load crapplication.

Note

The Premiere update 8.0.1 can be installed silent. Extract the update from the zip file and run the executable with -silent as parameter.

Biggest thing to note, when you run the silent install, you need to launch OEM.exe not Setup.exe with your specified parameters.

Note
Created a file application.xml.override (using Notepad - saving with UTF-8 encoding) in the main installation directory (where OEM.exe is located). Replace the x-es with your OOA license (no dashes). This suppresses EULA, Registration and Updates. Note that the "EULADelay" key was not enough (as per Adobe's instructions it should have been), so I had to add the "EULA" key with Suppress value.

To hide the country selection window which would show up at first startup of the application, I had to edit the following registry entry, setting the value to the correct three-digit language code (177 for Norway, 242 for United Kingdom - install to find yours):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Premiere Elements\8.0\Country

Implemented this by editing the 1033.mst file with Wise.

Also, if you want to include templates from the Content disk, copy the template folder into the main install folder and rename it to "Templates". Otherwise, set the value of INSTALLTEMPLATES to 0 in Abcpy.ini
