Install the Extract the vendor provided EndNoteX8.exe. Ithas two files in it: ENX8Inst.msi and licence.dat

Keep both files together. Create a transform.

Close all MS Office/LibreOffice files.

Install normally

Note

Endnote patch 8.01 and Endnote patch x8.1

Install patch(es) this way on top of Endnote X8 using a batch file. Make sure that Endnote, MS Office/LibreOffice programs are closed.
