This is valid for V. 2.8.6 . It took me around 2 Days to figure this out, but know everything is working fine.

How To silent install:
1. Download easyMP Network Projection: https://ftp.epson.com/drivers/epson16189.exe

2. Extract the downloaded .exe (with 7-Zip for example) and you will get a second .exe, extract this one also and you will get 2 folders(InstData and Language)

3.  Open InstData and go into "license" Folder. From there copy the desired language into InstData and after that delete the license folder
Warning: If you do not delete the license Folder you will end up with a License Agreement Pop-Up during Silent Installation)

4. Create setup.iss (InstData\setup.exe /r f1C:\temp\install.iss)
Warning: Always run cmd as Admin or you don't have all needed entries in your install.iss File)

5. How To Silent-Install: InstData\setup.exe /s install.iss
Warning: install.iss has to be in the same folder as setup.exe, Full Path to the iss File won't work with /s (try instead /s f1<path>)

The Uninstall-Part is a bit more complex. First of all read the Inventory Records for EasyMP Network Projection then do the following:
1. Move to C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\ . There you will find a Folder for each installed InstallShield-Exe. Locate the folder for easy MP Network Projection (the files in the folder will be the exactly same as in instData when you run the installation).

2. Copy the following command and change the Path to be correct for you:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{4A515955-A3D4-4FE6-98C0-E7987FF3279A}\setup.exe" -runfromtemp -l0x0407 -removeonly "C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{4A515955-A3D4-4FE6-98C0-E7987FF3279A}\setup.exe" -runfr  /r f1c:\temp\uninstall.iss

3. Run the above command and you will get a working uninstall.iss for silent uninstall.

4. How To Silent-Uninstall:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{4A515955-A3D4-4FE6-98C0-E7987FF3279A}\setup.exe" -runfromtemp -l0x0407 -removeonly "C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{4A515955-A3D4-4FE6-98C0-E7987FF3279A}\setup.exe" -runfr /s uninstall.iss
Warning: This will cause an automatic reboot when uninstall is finished (no prompt etc)
Note: Again the uninstall.iss File has to be in the same Folder as setup.exe(try to use /f1 instead).

I don't know why you can't do the Steps for Silent-Uninstall with the setup.exe used for installation. I've tried it, but ended up alyways with a -3 Error (Required Data not found in the uninstall.iss file).

  • AF JustinKS is spot on with the installation instructions & .ini settings. To get your own silent installer from Epson, email Epson Customer Support (epson1@mailca.custhelp.com) & simply request it. They sent me the download link within 24 hours. It works great!

In addition to modifying the nscsettings.ini file, I actually wrote a small batch file that ran the installer, waited (because the installer calls other executables), then ran a quick little .vbs script to pin the EasyMP shortcut to the taskbar.

Zipped the modified ini & new batch file along with all the other contents of the "Perfect Silent" folder (from Epson's original that you'll download link: NSCV286Win_PerfectSilent.zip), uploaded to K1000 EasyMP 2.86 inventory, then made a Managed Installation that overwrites the default installation (so I could use my .bat file) & deletes downloaded files. - cmgreene 8 years ago
  • Confirming I got this to work in 2019, with SCCM 2016. Same instructions for EasyMP 2.87 - tim42 4 years ago

I spoke to Epson about this and they provide a totally separate installer for silent installs.  they do not provide an msi, but I thought people might be interested in the document that comes with teh silent installer (ENP286Win_Silent)

  • Thanks so much for listing the ini settings! In past versions I had to write a Powershell script to modify the registry settings! You made it soooo much easier.

For anyone looking to get your own silent installer from Epson, email Epson Customer Support (epson1@mailca.custhelp.com) & simply request it. They sent me the download link within 24 hours. It works great! - cmgreene 8 years ago
  • I just emailed epson too. I hope they send me the file as this will save me the headache of having to install this by hand on like 100+ computers for all our projectors in our classrooms. If a newer version becomes available is there an upgrade path? Like is it possible to just install the updated version over the current version? I hope so. I do not even really care about the profiles all that much as teachers can grab the IP of the projector and set that up again. - bwilkerson 8 years ago
  • I want to add that this install works flawlessly and even upgrades old versions (at least it did when I tested upgrading versions 2.7x or higher)

Anyone got any tips for adding the firewall exception? I tried using netsh advfirewall firewall add program and that adds the correct information but when the program is launched it still prompts to add the exception to the firewall and will not go away. It is kind of a pain in the butt since our users are not admins so they cannot add the exception - bwilkerson 8 years ago
    • yeah, we have the same problem. I've told our users to just ignore the prompt - they can click "No" and it shouldn't pop up again. this will not prevent the program from working properly either. - AFJustinKS 8 years ago
      • It is annoying. For some users hitting NO does not make it go away.. Not sure why.. Then they freak out when they see the prompt. I was hoping to suppress it somehow. - bwilkerson 8 years ago

Note
Epson Easy MP 2.87

NB - Epson Easy MP is not possible to install completely silently as there is a EULA popup, hence I use Autoit3 for this particular software.
Additionally the software will write a log file to your installation folder, so no matter what it must have read access, or it will fail
To overcome this the installation directory gets copied to a temporary folder when installing

1) Create an installation folder - I called it Epson-EasyMP
2) Create setup.iss in root install folder

Script
To suppress the prompt asking for firewall exceptions to be created, you must create Windows Firewall rules locally, not via Group Policy. The software does not correctly check for the presence of firewall rules created via GPO*.

I used the following PowerShell script on Windows 8.1 x64 to create inbound and outbound rules. Replace %ProgramFiles(x86)% with %ProgramFiles% if you are installing on 32-bit Windows. Once this script was run, EasyMP no longer prompted to create rules at startup.

New-NetFirewallRule -Direction Inbound -DisplayName "EasyMP Network Projection" -Program "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\EPSON Projector\EasyMP Network Projection V2\EMP_NSC.exe" -Action Allow -EdgeTraversalPolicy Allow
New-NetFirewallRule -Direction Outbound -DisplayName "EasyMP Network Projection" -Program "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\EPSON Projector\EasyMP Network Projection V2\EMP_NSC.exe" -Action Allow

* This is probably due to it only checking for rules under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\FirewallRules, whereas GPO firewall rules are defined in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\FirewallRules

  • I'd like to suppress the initial dialog box that asks for Connect Mode (Quick/Advanced) and sets the default. In our building, if they select the wrong choice (Quick - which seems to make sense, who wants Advanced??) they are in for a world of hurt. Does not seem to be stored in the Registry. Will keep looking... - tim42 4 years ago

Note
Some modification has been done in previous and it worked for me with batch file. No uninstall.iss require for uninstall.

Note : If other version or same version is already installed then setup will uninstall it first and reboot is must require before installation.
The uninstall command will not run silently and user interaction is require. So to avoid this situation and install latest version without reboot follow below steps

Warning: Always run cmd as Admin or you don't have all needed entries in your install.iss File) Copy install.iss and paste into InstData folder

5. How To Silent-Install: \InstData\setup.exe -s -f1\InstData\install.iss
Warning: install.iss has to be in the same folder as setup.exe

The batch file will look like this: (Without reboot latest version will install )
if exist "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\EPSON Projector" rd /s /q "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\EPSON Projector"
if exist "%ProgramFiles%\EPSON Projector" rd /s /q "%ProgramFiles%\EPSON Projector"
