Symptom
Installation wizard configures Windows Installer, updates the InstallShield InstallDriver and then promptly aborts with the message "The wizard was interrupted before Connectix Virtual PC could be completely installed. Your system has note been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click Finish to exit the wizard."

No helpful errors are reported in the application event log; you must enable Windows Installer logging on the system in order to see the actual details of the error:

Problem
Bootstrapped InstallShield InstallDriver install was found to be creating second instance in DCOM as "InstallShield InstallDriver (2)" and in this application the identity is set to run as "The interactive user" and it should be set to "The launching user". However changing this in DCOMCNFG.EXE does not help because the setup.exe just reconfigures DCOM back to run as "The interactive user" which again breaks the installation.

Solution
1) Create an MST that removes the requirement for being installed using setup.exe. See Getting Around MSI Packages That Require Setup.exe
2) Install isscript.msi
3) Ensure DCOM is configured correctly. See MSI Error 1603 - Failed to create InstallDriver
4) Run installation with the included 1033.mst and the newly created mst. For example:

%windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /i "{server}\{share}\connectix5\Connectix Virtual PC.msi" TRANSFORMS="{server}\{share}\connectix5\1033.mst;{server}\{share}\connectix5\NoEXECheck.mst" /qb ALLUSERS=2
