Microsoft Mathmatics 4.0 claims to allow silent installation using the /Q switch however this does not work.

In order to silently install this application, extract MSetup_x86.exe. If you try to deploy using the msi file you will get an error prompting you to install from setup.exe. Instead, open the MSI file using Orca, create a new transform, drop the following rows:

Launch Condition | Installed OR (FROMSETUP=1)
Launch Condition | Installed OR (ALREADYRUNNING = 0)
Launch Contition | Installed OR (DOTNET35 = 1)

There is also an error that needs to be fixed. Under 'Registry' the error is in AdminDisableSxS. Change #[SXSOFF] to [#SXSOFF].

Save your transform as mytransform.mst

You may now silently install Mathmatics 4.0 using:

msiexec /i MSMath_x86.msi /qn TRANSFORMS=mytransform.mst

Direct X and .NET 3.5 are prerequisites so make sure that these are installed on your system as well.
