Installing the msi without setup.exe works, but not if you want to do it silently with /qb: the installer quits without any usefull logging.

The solution:
Use Wise InstallTailor to capture all installation descisions. After this you have to remove the "InstallationCode" custom action in the InstallExecuteSequence table. This custom action makes the installation quit and it isn't needed anymore for InstallTailor already ran it and captured the result.
