Security
For Windows XP SP2 locked down environment the shortcut Trend 963 does not launch instead Comes up with an error "Could not start SQL Server service...".

The application if configured with SQL Server 2005 on the client machine comes up with the above dialog as the Trend shortcut tries to restart the local MSSQLSERVER Windows service and in a locked down environment the logged in user has no privileges to do that eventually resulting in the error.

Remedy: Give user modify permissions for the Windows service MSSQLSERVER using Microsoft's SUBINACL utility.

SUBINACL.exe /service MSSQLSERVER grant="Domain Name\Domain Users Group"

The above gives full permissions for the "Domain Users Group" however refer to the SUBINACL help documentation for more fine tuned switches.
