active directory newbie
instead of local user account i have to give "Log on as:" a service permission to an active direcotory user. I am new to Active Directory, all i know about it is that it manages and controls permissions on domains, never had any hands on experience with it. So if i am given a AD username and password how do i give my service that logon, for example i am using this username for a local user account: ".\username", so basically my question is if the user is on AD and i m given the username and password to put it in my scripts how will that syntax differ? maybe something like "domainname\username"?
