Software Question

Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installing only as Japanese (even though I checked English)

08/16/2016 1070 views
I downloaded installation file (per phone support agent) from Adobe's tiny.cc/olddownloads site (to install on new Win10 ASUS laptop). But when i install it and then open it, up comes a page of Japanese (or perhaps Chinese) characters (Kanji). Not being able to read that, I cannot work through to change the language from within the program.

I've uninstalled 3x (with Revo, to clean registry, etc.), reinstalled, and every time the same.

Anyone had this problem? I called Adobe Acrobat support but the agent didn't have a clue and referred me to a forum.

Thanks

Well, I answered my own question! I learned (Adobe's info on languages) that a product's serial number is language-specific. The SN I was using apparently forced the Japanese language module (Locales), though no idea where I got it or why. In any case, I found another serial number for Acrobat XI Pro and used it to reinstall the program and it worked, coming up in English!
