Altiris Aquires Wise Solutions
Of particular interest to many AppDeploy members is the acquisition of Wise Solutions by Altiris that was announced yesterday. While it is too soon to say just how this will affect customers of either company, please share your feelings on the subject. Do you think this is a good or bad development?

The Good = If they lower the price and keep existing features and add more.
The Bad = Come out with yet anther version that fixes bugs and the only way to fix them is pay to upgrade.
The Ugly = No one knows till they do either of the first two.

This would no doubt account for the sudden removal of their Open Positions listings on their web site.

I have had the good fortune to use Altiris for a deployment and it rox. It easily beats Tivoli and SMS and if by purchasing Wise they improve the packaging/deployment method then they will be a strong force in the future.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,so that the conversation will remain readable.
