Can't image W10

Hi,

I'm very new to the whole KACE environment and I would like to know what the steps are to image a Dell 7490 (m.2 ssd's).

So far we've managed to do older systems, but somehow the m.2 ssd aren't recognized in KACE.

Any ideas how to do so?

EDIT: I've downloaded the CAB for the specific model and uploaded to the share '\\<ip>\drivers\kbe_windows_x64'. Using the SDA i've created a new KBE. Laptop -> F12 -> UEFI IPv4 (network stack already set etc)
Device checks media and stops instantly and promps for F1 to check again. Any idea?

Also that device is UEFI only, it can't boot from legacy sources:

You need to go to dell and download the Dell Command | Deploy WinPE 10.0 Driver Pack for that model, expand that and copy it to the SDA \\ikbox\drivers\kbe_windows_x64, rebuild a new KBE.

    • If you are booting from your NIC card, your DHCP needs to be configured to handle both Legacy and UEFI PXE boots, the DHCP should pickup the Computer IP and request the appropiate Boot File to the KACE appliance. (legacy or uefi)

      See:

You will also need to make sure Secure Boot is disabled in the BIOS settings - Channeler 5 years ago
      • Thanks for the tips Channeler, I think DHCP is correctly set. We've rolled out older Dell models before using NIC (UEFI and Legacy). It's just these newer type of models that aren't picking it up straight away. Secure Boot is disabled. Also tried to change it to AHCI. - jaychunlai 5 years ago
    • attach a picture or a video , showing where it gets stuck, (error message)? - Channeler 5 years ago
      • Hi Channeler, sorry for late reply. I'm working on it to get a picture!! - jaychunlai 5 years ago

      • I saw the video, your DHCP is not properly configured.

if you pause at 6 seconds mark, you will see is asking for undionly.kpxe, that's the boot file name for Legacy\BIOS not UEFI.

        https://support.quest.com/kace-systems-deployment-appliance/kb/217556/dhcp-configuration-for-bios-and-uefi-pxe

Review that article with your team, that DHCP is requesting the wrong boot file to the KACE Appliance.

Also make sure Secure Boot is off in the BIOS. - Channeler 5 years ago
