Computer will check in but will not install any label from KBOX

I did a complete disk format and installed 32-bit windows 7 on a laptop and now it checks in but it won't install any labels. I tried adding debug=true to amp.conf file still no luck. Please help

  • No it had kbox before uninstalling the OS. Never had issues before - DellKaceNinjaIT 6 years ago
    • Sounds like (I might be wrong) that you might have a duplicate name of that machine in the kbox. Do a search and make sure that there is no duplicate name. If there is delete the latest which has no groups allocated. Get the kuid from the one that has the groupings and stick it into the current computer. It should then install the programs. - rick07 6 years ago
  • I deleted the old name when I installed the new OS. I also tried changing the computer name but no luck yet. - DellKaceNinjaIT 6 years ago

It checks in or it has an AMP connection?  Those are two different things.  Smart labels are applied upon check in.

Does your image have a KUID in it when you deploy?  If so, you will need to generate a new KUID for that system.

  • When I said check in, I meant it has an AMP connection running and it shows up in the inventory as well. It would also show up any new software's that I installed manually in that laptop. It so confusing - DellKaceNinjaIT 6 years ago
  • I installed the new OS using a CD and not an image so I don't think it had KUID - DellKaceNinjaIT 6 years ago
    • Do you have any kind of software that blocks applications from running? What happens if you run this in an admin command prompt? c:\program files\dell\kace\runkbot 4 0

Does it check in to the K1000 and update inventory? If not, open a support ticket with KACE. - jknox 6 years ago
      • I tried that but it will update the inventory - DellKaceNinjaIT 6 years ago

Figured out the issue though. All our software's through Kace were setup for systems with SP1 and I never installed SP1 on the new machine. Thank you all for your help though.
