Create a bootable media that will assign a static IP address and have KBOX push an image to it.
We don't have control over our DHCP but I have 5 IP addresses reserved for me. I was wondering if this is possible.. Stick a USB drive and boot from it and assign a static IP address. Have kbox find that specific IP address and push an image to that machine. If possible I don't want the kbox looking for a specific MAC because I would like to use the USB drive on other computers.
Any tips would be great! Thanks in advance!

Have you used the KBE Manipulator? It does have an option for static IP.

Never tried this myself but
In the K2000 you can go under system inventory and check the ip's and set next boot action from the drop down and choose your image. You can try can to set the number of boots to 99 and see if it works from machine to machine using the same ip but different macs. If it works post this in a blog

sounds like my USAF days, hurry up and wait. Our classroom images are based on software license types. I create an all-sites image that has only software licensed that can be put on all academic machines at TMCC. I then start creating additional masters from that with restricted licenses so I can end up with 20-30 images for deployment for all the rooms. The classroom manager wants all software so all they have to is pull the image, let it post and install deepfreeze on it, takes about an hour from boot to walkaway to do this approach. Also prevents one machine from being different from the others in a room. - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago

Is that a working KBE? Does it include the NIC drivers for that machine?
