Driver Feed Advisor Error

I just had this issue pop up today that I have never seen before. I've looked around for a while with not luck on how to troubleshoot. I am waiting on tech support to get back to me but thought I would ask here while I wait in case somebody has had a similar issue. The driver feed advisor cannot find software registry key on device to read operating system. This is preventing me from mapping to the drive in my mid-level task where I keep my Windows 10 images.9k=

  • So to clarify, driverfeed advisor is saying that the device which you booted has no operating system installed, but this does not prevent any drive mappings, etc. from occurring. You should have a T: (petemp) and a Y: (peinst) drive mapped before you start a deployment. So maybe you can describe the issue you are having in detail. - cserrins 3 years ago
  • Hi Corey, so this is right when I boot into my KBE with a Lenovo T470 laptop I get this message. At this point I have a T: (petemp) and a Y:(peinst) premapped. My first mid-level task deletes the T: drive and remaps it to a local network drive where I store my images. The delete script works but the remap script fails saying this network drive does not exist. When I open up a command prompt on the failed script screen and run the same remap command it works fine and I am able to continue imaging the computer. It looks like when I first boot into my KBE that the KBE cannot see the path to my ikbox where the T470 drivers are located \\ikbox\drivers_postinstall\lenovo\windows_10_x64\ThinkPad 470 W10DG. Is it possible that the drivers for this laptop in my ikbox out of date? Should I update the lenovo drivers and rebuild my KBE? - darthpillowtalk 3 years ago
    • While in the KBE, you will see the drivers_postinstall in the Y: drive. Verify that. Why delete the t: drive? We actually write a log file to that drive, so I would make sure some t: drive exists. As for why it isn't mapping to your specified server, we would need more info, like what kind of task it is, what is the commandline being used, what error are you seeing, etc. - cserrins 3 years ago
