Hi Team,

We are trying to install Excel 2010 inthe client environment.Client have given the complete Office package(3.24 GB).They want us to create a mst and deploy the package....We tried installing the source files by running the setup.exe and selecting only excel 2010 and checked the event viewer...got the sequence ofthe installation...

there are 5 msi's.but when we tried to install the msi individually, we are getting the error 1713..

have you encountered any error's like this before...?
how to resolve it?

regards

how to resolve it? First, use the correct forum. This should be in 'Package Development'. Second, read the 'Package KB' and the many, many posts on Office 2010.

The long & short is, you can't use transforms. Microsoft has decreed that patch files (MSPs) are now the mechanism for installation customisation.

Thank you VBScab for the correction...

I checked the forum and was able to solve the issue by creating the msp using the OCT Tool and we were able to convince the client that mst is not the right solution....:)
