Flash Player 9.0.18 deployment error
Hi,
I have previously deployed Flash Player 8.0.24 via a GPO and when I trytoupgrade it to version 9.0.16 I experience computer hangs at startup. This is caused by a pop up message saying 'uninstall complete'.
I know alot has been written about this issue before but I cannot get this to work.
I have tried the following, none of which have worked:
- running the flash uninstaller provided by adobe as silent
- sending the 'enter' key via a vbscript to dismiss the 'uninstall complete box'
- unregistering flash8.ocx and deleting the c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash folder
- running the uninstaller and then killing the IDriver.exe and msiexec.exe processes via a vbscript / wmi before launching the flash 9 msi
- removing the uninstall customaction from the Flash9 msi.
This one is driving me mad! Any solutions would be greatly appreciated
I have, of course, submitted a bug reportto Adobe, but do not feel to confident about getting a reply
