How to sync on-demand LDAP labels with Kace

04/14/2016 1799 views

We've been using Kace for a few years now.  LDAP has always been a "set it and forget it" kind of area and everything is working fine so there has never been a need to look into it.  What I would like to know is there a way to setup a sync quarry that I can run on-demand as needed?  Specifically I am looking to sync security groups in AD that we use to control access to software library objects. Today, the syncing is scheduled to occur once a night and if a request come in for software, we add them to the appropriate AD group and then let the staff know they will have access by the following day. Not very efficient for immediate needs and we have other work around for that. I would like to be able to add a person to the AD Group and then run a sync for JUST the security groups container (not the entire Directory) as needed.

  • You can do the imports nightly that will import new security groups. If a user does try to log in before that happens, the LDAP will still go out and check to see if that user is allowed access any time a user tries to log in using LDAP. You shouldn't need to wait for the import to occur at night.
