K2000 SDA Scripted Installation Post-Install Task with multiple Restarts
i hope someone of you can help me.
What i try to achive:
I would like to use the Kace K2000 SDA to do a Scripted Installation to install Windows, some Applications and in the End also run this Applications in a specific order (I want to automate Benchmarks running on our Systems).
Issues i am facing and questions:
1. Some of the Applications are rather big (~15GB) and the K2000 seems only to accept Applications as Post Install Task up to a specific size. I plan to circumvent this issue by using a NAS on the same Network to store the applications and just write post install BAT scripts to copy+install the applications. If anyone has a better Idea how this can also be integrated into the K2000 without the need of a second System, i would like to here it.
2. Some of the Applications need multiple Restarts when they are run. Originally i intended to use a BAT Script as a Post-Install Task for each application i would like to run. But this brings me into the Issue that i dont know how to tell the K2000 if the Task really is finished. Normally the next Task is started if the script/application exits without errorcode. But as the Application will Restart the System Multiple Times i dont see how the K2000 can keep track if my BAT Script (which will be in autostart as long as the application runs) has finished.
- Is there any way to force the start of the next Task from Inside a Post-Install BAT Script? That way i could use my Script to track if the Application has finished and then start the next Task from within the script
- If there is no way to force this, does anyone else have a Idea how to achive what i want?
Thanks in advance
In answer to your question 1, I just came across this in the version 6 Admin Guide (https://ikbox.pediatrichomeservice.com/locale/en_US.UTF-8/doc/K2000.pdf):
