Software Deployment Question

KACE upgrade

05/23/2017 1915 views
Hi everyone,

I am currently running ver 6.4 K1000 and its stable, but I will need to upgrade and need some advice.  Should I just go to 8.0 that just got released or go to 7.1 and wait to see what 8.0 does.  I am terribly concerned as this will be my first update since being in charge of my company's KACE.

Also, how has everyone been handling getting Powershell out to all users?  I know that starting with 7.0 KACE now requires all users to have PS installed on the machines.

Thanks

  • I'm not sure what you mean by "getting Powershell out to all users". Powershell is included in a standard OS install for Windows 7 and up.
  • My mistake I was typing too fast.
  • I would not recommend upgrading passed the 6.4.x series unless you have a dev environment to test. Numerous issues including e-mail problems reported on 7.0 and 7.1 with very little from support on perm fixes.
