KBE UI - not working on E6320
Hi,
Just got the K2000 up and running.
Got all the drivers in for the E6320 and the latest KBE driver pack and A05 drivers for Windows PE from Dell, but when booting into a 32bit KBE, the system freezes and wont let me go any further.
Oddly the 64bit version works - but it does not display any scripted installs!
I did force a boot action so that the scripted install process kicks off straight away after PXE booting though and that's worked a treat.
Its just the KBE front end that is frozen and the HDD light flashes on and off repeatedly.
PXE booting into a VMWARE VM works fine though.

Where does it "freeze" is it at a command prompt? If so, do an ipconfig to see if you have an IP address. These laptops use the e1c driver, so confirm that you have that driver in there. After putting the driver in there, recaching, did you build a new KBE? That is required for the driver to be injected.

The 64bit loading but not the 32bit has me suspicous esp after you said you got the latest drivers. The same thing happened to me the KBE would stop loading at a seemingly random spot. Turns out I didn't have enough RAM in these systems. 512 mb isnt enough. I would check that. However your E6320 should have like 2 gb at least, so this probably isn't your issue. Take a screen shot please.

It is doing it in the 64bit version of KBE after rebuilding with the newer drivers that support the E6x20 series laptops from Dell.
It doesnt do this when testing under VMWare.

I had the same problem with the mouse and keyboard. Turns out the winpe KBE doesn't have the drivers for the touch pad out keyboard. I must use a usb mouse and keyboard on most of my laptop models.

Why not add them to kbe, you would do this the same way you add nic drivers.

Indeed Corey, that's what I would do if I had some time on my hands :( but me and my K2000 have been running non stop for weeks lol
